Dr. Tom Silliman

Dr. Silliman received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. He received his Master and Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Maryland in College Park. He recently retired from public school education after 45 years of working with students of all levels (elementary through adult) in both Maryland and Florida. All through his career in education he also has been an active performer of both Jazz and Classical Music. He has directed Jazz Ensembles at the Junior High, High School, Junior College and Adult Community levels. Currently he is the Director of the Osceola Center for the Arts Big Band and plays in the Space Coast Pops Orchestra where he performs on Oboe, English Horn and Tenor Saxophone. In Maryland and Florida, Dr. Silliman has performed with the Four Tops, Della Reese, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Manhattan Transfer, the Four Freshmen, Keely Smith, Phil Woods, Urbie Green, Bobby Shew, Joe Romano, Bill Price, Al Alberts (Four Aces), and Lynn Roberts and the Hilton Head Orchestra Big Band.
